Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — like whether you're signed in. Cookies are not programs and cannot run code or carry viruses.
Track WIP uses the following cookies:
| Cookie Name | Type | Duration | Purpose | Can You Opt Out? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sb-[ref]-auth-token | Strictly Necessary | Session / JWT expiry | Stores your encrypted login session. Required for authentication to work. | No — the app cannot function without this cookie. Signing out removes it. |
_gcl_au | Marketing / Advertising | 90 days | Google Ads conversion linker. Used to measure whether a visitor who clicked one of our ads went on to subscribe. Set by Google. | Yes — click “Reject Non-Essential” on the cookie banner. You can also opt out via Google's ad settings. |
_gcl_aw | Marketing / Advertising | 90 days | Google Ads click identifier. Stores the Google Click ID (GCLID) from an ad click so conversions can be attributed to the correct campaign. Set by Google. | Yes — same as above. |
The authentication cookie is set by Supabase. It is an HTTP-only cookie and cannot be accessed by JavaScript in your browser.
The Google Ads cookies are only set if you click “Accept All” on the cookie banner. If you click “Reject Non-Essential,” Google Ads runs in restricted mode and does not set any cookies on your device.
We want to be explicit about what we are not doing:
We run Google Ads to reach contractors who might benefit from Track WIP. Google's tag measures whether ad clicks result in paid subscriptions. This only operates with your consent. You can read about Google's cookie and privacy practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Stripe, our payment processor, may set cookies (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) on the Stripe-hosted checkout page when you subscribe. These cookies are set by Stripe's domain, not ours, and are used for fraud prevention. You can read about Stripe's cookie practices at stripe.com/cookies-policy.
When you first visit Track WIP, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen:
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled — they are required for login to work. If you want to remove them entirely, sign out of Track WIP.
You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for trackwip.com (the banner will reappear on your next visit).
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies will prevent you from signing into Track WIP.
We will update this policy whenever our cookie usage changes. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Significant changes that affect your consent will trigger the banner to reappear.
